man your battle station

I’ll admit it
I’m nervous
Sometimes I think
Is it worth it?
I’m pouring my heart
In the hardest way
Without a glass
It’s not fair play
Point is, I’m petrified
That I’m just too much
A girl with a fire in her mind
Is too hot to the touch
And can turn a tall order
Into too far large
And the words that were said
Become unnecessary vows
I said I won’t poke or push
And won’t rush
So just tell me right now
if you can’t take a lush
cause I can’t control timing
Or anything, for that matter
And sometimes it seems
That you just might doubt her
Call me crazy, call me daring
Call me dumb, call me old
And leave me if you want to
I’ll drop back to frigid cold
I’m no little girl
I can take the hurt
I’ve been out in the world
And not to be curt
But boys like you are a dime a dozen
I don’t need anyone
I’ve perfected running
